| Primary Construction & Frame Material | Engineered Wood, Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF), Oak, Pine, Plywood, Poplar, Rubberwood, Walnut Engineered wood products are manufactured to maximize the natural strength and stamina of wood. Oak is a durable hardwood known for its robust manufacturing properties as well as its ability to survive years of use. The straight grain markings are striking, giving your oak furniture a unique look. Furniture made with pine has a natural, creamy yellow colouring that looks elegant and adds warmth to the home. Pine has a tight grain pattern with a smooth surface to hold finishes well. Plywood provides extra strength to furniture structures, and is used in everything from musical instruments to home construction. By layering each piece to cross the grain of the previous one, plywood is resistant to cracking, shrinking and warping. Used for its durability and affordability, poplar is often a component in wooden utility products like pallets and furniture frames. However, poplar's uniform texture and even grain creates a smooth look and feel for decorative use. Rubberwood, also known as parawood or Asian hardwood, is one of the most durable and eco-friendly woods in the furniture market today. Once the tree's latex sap is collected for other industries, rubberwood is recycled into home furnishings. The dense grain makes it stable and strong, and the naturally light undertone accurately holds the intended stain colour. Walnut has a unique growth pattern, which allows for smaller rings to grow inside the wood's normal ring pattern. This creates beautiful patterns used to decorate all types of furniture. |
| Finish Method | Veneers By gluing a thin layer of beautiful wood or stone onto quality construction materials, veneers provide a striking texture and finish to furniture. Veneers won’t warp, crack or split over time, which keeps your products looking as good as the day you bought them. |
| Construction Method | Dowel Joint, Corner-Blocking A dowel joint uses a thin cylinder of wood to reinforce pieces of wood joined together. It ensures a neat, hidden finish and an incredibly strong joint, without the use of nails or glues. An extra block of wood is added to each corner of the furniture’s frame for additional support. Known as corner-blocking, this technique helps to brace your furniture for enduring stability. |

| Drawer Construction | French Dovetailing, English Dovetailing A triangular groove is cut down the length of a board to allow the edge of a second board to slide in. The groove's triangular shape helps keep the pieces together under strain. Dovetailing is a woodworking technique commonly used to put drawers together. Tight fitting dovetails resist the wood's natural tendency to twist and warp over time, meaning your drawers will remain functional for as long as you own them. |
| Drawer Glides | Side-Mounted Metal Ball-Bearing Situated on both sides of the drawer, these metal glides move smoothly thanks to ball bearings tucked inside each slide. These glides are strong, and will support even the heaviest junk drawer. |
| Drawer Lining | Top drawer is felt-lined, bottom drawers stained with dust-proof bottom |
